Fifty years ago today, the Soviet Union's Yuri Gagarin became the first human in space.

Fifty years ago this fall, "The Flintstones" premiered. It was "The Simpsons" of its day, and it was the first cartoon to be featured in prime time.

Loosely based on "The Honeymooners," but with far less spousal abuse, "The Flintstones" followed the antics of Fred, Wilma, Barney and Betty -- the modern stone age family.

Some fifty years on, a film reel has surfaced showing a smoke loving Marilyn. The film has been located in an attic and was recently purchased for $275,000 by collector Keya Morgan While Marilyn doesn't inhale deeply, the cigarette in the film has been confirmed by the film-maker to contain marijuana.

Fifty years ago, Jay Ward's animated moose and squirrel duo, "Rocky & Bullwinkle," debuted on ABC.
