Conan O'Brien is taking a cue from Monty Python for his new late-night show, at least for the show's promo.

So Monty Python has just turned 40 years old and to celebrate one of the greatest comedy troupes of all time - we have rounded up our all time favorite clips, from dead parrots, to all singing all dancing lumbar jacks, via upper class twits.

Satellite radio firm Sirius XM has announced a new radio channel dedicated to the hilarious delights of Monty Python.

Starting this Friday (16 October) and running for 10 days only, the Monty Python channel is scheduled to run through Monty Python’s funniest and greatest skits, quotes and songs 24 hours a day.

On October 5 1969 BBC One first broadcast a quirky little show called "Monty Python's Flying Circus." And now, for something completely different, the headlines in this gallery will have absolutely nothing to do with the photos and will instead be quotes from the show.

The comedy of Python was streaks ahead of its time. Famous for its innovation and radical splendor, Python sketches broke the mould of building to a specific punchline, delivering some of the funniest and most enduring sketches of our lifetime.

Most people will know about British comedy institutions such as Monty Python’s Flying Circus, Benny Hill or more recently Rcky Gervais’s ‘The Office’ however there are some other British comedy gems out there that demand more attention than they’ve got.

That's right, the group has finally jumped on the YouTube bandwagon and started uploading high quality videos of various sketches and movie clips to their own Monty Python channel.

There are only 24 videos right now, but the channel is barely five days old and there's plenty of room to grow.
