The Beatles are a stranger to Apple and iTunes, but apparently not so to MTV and their video game subsidiary Harmonix (Rock Band).

A deal between the parties was announced on Thursday morning by MTV and the band's own Apple Corps Ltd.

The Beatles are a stranger to Apple and iTunes, but not so to MTV and the game "Rock Band." The deal is set to be announced on Thursday morning by Viacom's MTV and the band's own Apple Corps Ltd.

I've received an email invitation to the teleconference to the event, which is at 7 AM PDT.


 

Microsoft, chasing Apple, adds TV shows to Zune Marketplace

Microsoft Corp. said late Monday it will now sell TV shows, including popular NBC series, on the Zune Marketplace, a move that brings its selection of content for the digital media player a step closer to what Apple Inc.'s iTunes offers for Apple's much more popular iPod.


 

McCartney Signs Deal with iTunes for Beatles Catalog

If nothing else, it appears that the contentious divorce between Paul McCartney and Heather Mills has led to one good result - well, not for either of them, but for music fans.

McCartney has authorized the release of the Beatles' back catalog on iTunes in a deal that is valued at $400 million.
